Abstract:

In this 4th part of a series on the taxonomy of the Pipunculidae of Japan, the genus Pipunculus (members of which are parasitoids of Cicadellidae) is dealt with. A key to the 12 species known from Japan (7 of them newly described) is included. Known hosts are listed for 2 previously described species.Abstract 2: Twelve species of the Japanese Pipunculus Latrielle are treated with key to species, descriptions and illustrations of important diagnostic characters. Four of them are newly recorded from Japan and seven of them are new species. (The new species are the following: P. babai, P. rarus, P. subvaripes, P. avius, P. diuteus, P. nitor and P. magnicarinatus. The other species are P. varipes, P. thomsoni, P. oldenbergi, P. campestris and P. boharti).
