Abstract:

25 species of Pipunculidae are presented from a forest ecosystem of the Province of Navarra in northern Spain. The material was collected by means of six malaise-traps, placed for two years within two botanically different parts of the same forest (beech and mixed). Within the recorded species, one taxon, Chalarus leticiae sp. nov., is described as new to science and nine more species are reported as new to Spain and the Iberian Peninsula. The different faunistic composition of the beech and mixed stands is discussed shortly. A checklist for the Spanish Pipunculidae is presented. In this context it is pointed out that the species described by BECKER (1897) have erroneously been listed as "BECKER, 1898" by many authors in the past.
