| Abstract: | The paper presents the results of studies on Diptera of the Babia Gora Massif (Polish Western Carpathians). Out of the total number of 781 species recorded from the territory of the whole Bahia Gora Massif, 684 species were found in its Polish part; this is 9,8 % of Diptera reported from Poland. 518 species are given for the first time (including 11 species new to the fauna of Poland). The state of knowledge, vertical distribution and ecological characteristics of this group of insects are given. |
