| Abstract: | Pipunculidae in the collections of Italian museums and in some private collections have been examined. Altogether, 57 species were recognized from the territory of Italy. The Italian pipunculid fauna is compared with the fauna of other European countries and a list together with maps of distribution of all species hitherto known from Italy is given. |
